Someday...Somewhere!

Hello everyone!  I decided to start out a little differently this time with a picture of me.  It's a rather unattractive shot, but it kind of describes my feelings as of now.  I'm a little sad at myself for skipping a week of bloggin, and for all you avid readers, I do apologize.  So this is my "oh crap I'm sorry face" for y'all.

Aight, so these past two weeks have been quite fun.  I've been given things one size too big, listened to Coldplay on the piano, witnessed an invasion, just met a girl named Maria, discovered the richest things in life, been a guest, and have found the joys of hot and cold melted together to warm.  Now for some adventure!

First for the invasion.  As you see from the picture above, we have a big scary bug on our ceiling.  not only that, but we have a ladybug infestation.  You see the little gray thingy in the kind of corner with the little ladybug guy on there?  That would be our ladybug nest.  Yup, ladybugs have invaded our humble apartment.  And that big nasty bug is probably going to eat the little guy.

Here's a better picture of our ladybug infestation.  Maintenance came a few days ago because our walls were messed up or something (so their solution is to repaint them...) and so we told the guy about our ladybug infestation.  He said that soon they would come to rid us of the insects and repaint our walls.  They told us they would be back in a week or two, which is code for they won't be back for a month or two.  Marci had a nasty on her wall that she sent in a request for the first day of college.  It's still there.  Oh the joys of living in the ghetto! :)

My next adventure happened Wednesday night.  James, Jacob, and I went to the Dansante Theater to watch the movie Amadeus for our creative arts class.  I thought it started at seven, so we got there just a few minutes before then.  Unfortunately, there was a sign that said that the show started and six.  Crap.  Luckily, there was another show at 9:30 that we decided we'd go to.  What to do for two and a half hours?  Well, Wednesdays are free pie night at Village Inn.  James, Jacob, and I decided to mosey on down there for some delicious pie.  After going there we discovered this rather depressing sign saying free pie night is cancelled throughout the holiday season due to higher pie sales during this time.  It was awful and pretty much destroyed my cheer.  Obviously.  What did we do next?  We went to Walmart and got James's grocery shopping done.  Lovely.  What would we do without Walmart?

This sign was at Village Inn.  Jacob said it reminded him of me, minus the coffee part.  That made me happy. :)

Next night was date night for Marci and Jarod.  They're in love.  So for date night, they made delicious brownies and ice cream--the perfect mix of hot and cold!  This is what Marci does best, lick the bowl.  This is what Jarod does best, watch and support her.  What a good little couple they are!

This is Jaycie waiting for the delicious brownies to exit the oven and enter her mouth while Marci does dishes and Jarod plays Doodle Jump.  It's a perfect night.
This night I also fell in love with a musical.  This isn't really a surprise, but all the same, it was a new experience for me.  This musical is West Side Story.  I had never really seen/appreciated/cared about it up until this point.  The fact that it was based off Romeo and Juliet didn't help matters.  I didn't really like the play, it seemed so overrated and overused, so West Side Story never seemed very exciting to me.  However, I decided to take a chance, and as a result, I fell in love.  I love the music, the actors, and especially the story line.  My favorite/least favorite part is when Tony sees Maria after being told she's dead and the hope and joy on his face is just beautiful.  Then as they move towards each other and Chino shoots him as they finally reach one another, Tony dies in Maria's arms.  As cliche and cheesy as it is, I love it.  They just stinkin' love each other so much!  My favorite song on there is "Somewhere".  It's so hopeful and ironic.  Augh, that movie is fantastic.  It definitely is going on my top 10 favorite musicals of all time.

Yesterday I had the great opportunity to listen to and meet Katherine Nelson at Religion in Life.  Sister Nelson is the lady who played Emma Smith in the recent Joseph Smith movies.  She was absolutely amazing.  She spoke about her experience as Emma and getting the part.  During her talk she mentioned a quote:
"God gives us dreams a size too big so we may grow into them."
I found this beautiful and completely true.  I've often wondered why I was given desires for such grand adventures and experiences if half the time they seemed impossible to reach.  It now just dawned on me that dreams are like callings in the church.  We aren't called for who we are now, but for who we can become.  Heavenly Father gives us grand dreams because He knows we can achieve them and grow to become more like Him and Christ.  I am so grateful for this.
Sister Nelson closed with this song, which happens to be one of my very favorites.

Please take the time to watch it.  I guarantee it will make your day just that much more special.

Tonight I went to the Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson concert in Burley.  Oh my lanta it was fantastic!  Those two are so funny and extremely talented.  They played Love Story Meets Viva la Vida and Bring Him Home my two favorite songs they do.  Both were stellar and brought tears to my eyes.  I love music!!
One memorable quote they ended with was this:
"We'd like to thank our parents for making this possible...and our children for making it necessary."
Boy are they brilliant!
So apparently I came home this weekend.  It has been so nice being able to just relax and be with my family.  I love them so much!  Currently I am watching good ol' Beauty and the Beast with my beloved siblings.  Oh, life is so good!

As a closer I have another picture for y'all.  Thanks so much for reading!  Til next time!
